Does frizzle sizzle need a lot of sun during summer?

I cut off the flower stem and all the leaves. Does it need a lot of sun during the summer?

Frizzle sizzle goes dormant during the summer and won't regrow its leaves until the fall. Light is less crucial during this time because it doesn't have leaves anyway, but once it regrows them, it'll want plenty of light again.
