Where my plant stems on my string of pearls cross the pot lip they dry and get brittle What am I doing wrong?

Often, the edge of a pot is the hottest, driest place a string of pearls will grow over. If the plant is getting too much sun, it'll likely show in that spot first. Try moving the plant to a window that gets morning sun, but is more protected in the afternoon.
