This is the stem of the plant with some roots near the bottom, though not many. To plant it, simply take the blunt end and poke it into some well draining soil. The narrow tipped branches should be pointing upwards and the plant should be planted deep enough for it to stand on its own, unassisted. Then, be sure it's getting plenty of light.
Please note, Tylecodon is summer dormant, and loses its leaves during this time. Water sparingly, if at all, until it begins to develop its leaves. Then water regularly, like you would any other succulent.
