I live on a barrier island with no trees Would Hens and chicks grow in full sun and in sand ?

Pure sand is not suitable for Sempervivum and they cannot tolerate high salt levels. We recommend planting a container and using a soil mix designed for succulents and cacti.

Also note, full sun can become an issue in high heat. If it gets above 90°F, protection from afternoon sun is ideal.
