How often to water? Conophytum ficiforme [large] [limited]

I obtained this 4/26; the soil was a bit moist, so I have not watered it yet. The outer “balls” look a little wrinkly and soft; a bit yellow. I feel like I should water it, and do you have a recommended watering schedule? Is it like corpuscularia where it will wrinkle/soften when it needs water? Thank you!

Conophytum actually go dormant in the summer and should be kept dry. You will want to re-pot them into a very well-draining soil like this Bonsai Jack Gritty Mix. Your watering practices will vary depending on your conditions, but the link below nicely outlines one grower's annual watering cycle for Conophytum.
