Mine is about to bloom and turned kind of brownish like the first photo. What does that mean?

Haworthia 'Wudalang' turns that color when it's stressed. For succulents, a bit of stress isn't a bad thing and it brings out their best colors. Stress can be the result of intense sunlight or drought. It could be that your plant is thirstier because it's forming that bloom stalk.
