String of pearls shouldn't be allowed to freeze as frost can do a tremendous amount of damage to the plant. For the vast majority of the US, that means these plants need to be brought indoors for the winter before the first frosts of the year. As long as its other needs are taken care of, moving the plant indoors should be the only winterizing the plant requires.
