my plant all the leaves died, how do I tell if the bulb is still alive?

Unfortunately, the only way to tell is to see if the leaves come back in the fall.
'Frizzle Sizzle' goes dormant in the summer to beat the heat and regrows its leaves in the fall. During this time you shouldn't water or fertilize as the plant is not in a position to take up water or fertilizer and it would just end up rotting.
