Can you propagate from single leaf taken from the mother plant?

Can you propagate from single leaf taken from the mother plant? Or would you need to separate the entire root of the mother plant? Or is it by pups growing from the mother plant?

As this plant grows, it will create new offsets which can be divided out and replanted. It does not propagate consistently from leaves.
