Succulents need periods of drought, so aim for deep but very infrequent watering. This is a "soak and dry" method that fully saturates the soil then lets the roots completely dry out before the next watering. The soil will feel dry all the way down at the pot's drainage hole and the leaves will feel flexible when it's ready for water again. When in doubt, wait longer to water, and the plant's signs of thirst will become clearer. This is an excellent method for succulents which are fast to recover from drought (just water) and very difficult to recover from rot.
