As a houseplant in nh, when can I prune? And will it become bushy if I do. Great shape now but growing upward.

You can prune anytime of the year indoors. These plants will become bushy if you do decide to prune them. Just clip a couple inches off the main stem and branches will quickly form. Just be sure the plant is getting plenty of light.
As a bonus tip, you can root the cutting you just made in the same pot to add to the bushy growth. Click the link below to read about rooting cuttings. Plectranthus are is notoriously easy to propagate.
