It sounds like Echeveria would do very well in your outdoor area, even year around. The USDA recently updated its hardiness zone map so it's more current than our website's hardiness zone map at the moment.
Just in case though, if it threatens to freeze, be sure to move your Echeveria so that they're as close to your house as possible. Otherwise, you can cover them with a sheet. Both of these can save Echeveria from mild frosts.
