After they bloom, does the plant turn brown and eventually come back? Or is that a problem?
Drosanthemum hispidum
I bought a house last year with them in the front yard. They've been fine and even had a huge bloom with purple flowers a few months ago, but now I noticed that sections have turned brown. Is that a natural phase and they'll grow back?

The flowers themselves will shrivel and turn brown after they die, but the leaves should stay green year round. It's possible that the plants were underwatered because they tend to need more water when blooming. With ice plants, you can cut away dry dead patches and the living sections will grow to fill in the area.
