A translucent bulb is a bad sign, but not the end of the world. Try gently pinching the bulb with your fingers. Is it very squishy? If so then it's likely that your plant has rotted and will not resprout.
If your bulb isn't squishy, it has likely gone dormant. Maybe it was under watered but the reasons for indoor dormancy are many and poorly understood. Just give it good light and water only sparingly and the leaves should resprout in a couple of months.
