It depends on the succulent in question, but this Bonsai Jack Gritty mix is the best for thick-leaved succulents grown indoors. As a general rule, succulents like gritty, rapidly draining soil. Adding lots of perlite, pumice, or coarse sand into the kinds of bagged succulent soil mixes you'll find at a garden center will make them more suitable for succulents.
