Totally a matter of personal preference, but you'll want more succulents for larger pumpkins. The photo for this listing shows an extra large pumpkin (~16" diameter) with all 50 succulents on it. On the other Pumpkin Succulent Cuttings listings you can see example pumpkins with 10 and 30 cuttings on them at the link below.
