Unfortunately, neither Gasteria nor Haworthia are supposed to be soft. That, plus the yellowing is a sure sign of root rot. Likely, those plants won't survive. However, if they have any offsets, or little ones, around their base, those may still survive. Take only offsets that are firm and green and cut them off of the mother plant with a clean knife or a pair of scissors. Then plant them like a cutting, which you can read about at the link below.

Your soil may also be too organic for succulents. Organic material in soil tends to hold onto water for a long time. The best soil for succulents has a lot of small pebbles or bits of perlite in it, which allows the soil to shed water quickly. A good soil recipe is one part normal potting soil, one part coarse sand and one part pebbles or perlite. Only a third of that recipe is made up of organic material.
It's okay to struggle. Succulents are a strange plant to grow because they're so averse to water, which they also need to survive. Don't get too discouraged. Once you get a good system going, you'll find that your plants thrive.
