Generally speaking, trimming succulent leaves is not a good idea because doing so encourages rot. It's better to let the plant replace its damaged leaves with healthy ones over time. However, Tillandsia do not normally get dead leaf tips without something being wrong with their environment. It can happen when an air plant gets too much sun or too little water.
