They've bloomed for us while planted in 2 inch pots. Age is not as important for blooming as other factors because they'll likely come to you at blooming age already. Sunlight is the most important factor. Six hours of sunlight or more are needed for blooming. If you're using a grow light, make sure it's powerful enough and close enough to the plant. It'll need 12 hours under the grow light. You can read our grow light recommendations at the link below.
Fertilizing with a balanced and dilute fertilizer could also help.
