Sansevieria trifasciata (now Dracaena trifasciata) is native to the western, tropical parts of Africa. The Congo, Nigeria and the countries in between make up this plant's home. However, it has been naturalized in many parts of the tropical world. Also, you won't find the cultivar 'Black Dragon' growing in the wild.
