These plants can get to be quite large in the ground, around 6' or so. However, in a pot, they won't grow nearly that large. As long as you don't use too large of a pot, your plant will stay a manageable size. However, how tall it will get exactly is tough to say.
Pruning may cause your plant to branch, which is fine, but if you want that solitary stem look, we don't recommend pruning.
Please note, a lack of sunlight will "stretch" the plant, causing it to grow very tall, very fast, no matter what it's potted in. Be sure this plant is getting plenty of light, either from an unobstructed south facing window or from a grow light.
