Many succulents are naturally very resistant to heat, but there are a couple of things that would be handy to know. We also have an FAQ article on hot areas that has applicable information to zone 8.
1) Know the symptoms of sunburn. You can read all about sunburn on our FAQ article about the subject!
2) Heat can exasperate rot, especially when combined with humidity or consistently wet soil. That's why it is crucial to use a gritty soil that drains water well. That way, you can increase the water when it's really hot, while not keeping that moisture around to nurture fungal spores.
3) Afternoon shade is your friend. This is especially true for thinner leafed varieties like Orostachys, Aeonium and Crassula. Five or six hours of morning sun is plenty.
