Yes! That would well, especially since this plant can get very large. Just be sure that the soil you're planting it into is well draining. You want a sandier soil, with a good amount of inorganic material.
So I could plant this in the ground in Florida since I am a zone 10 Mangave 'Aztec King' [plug]
