How deep should this free plant be planted so that it stands but doesn’t rot?

Just make sure that the green part of the heart is roughly 1/4" below the soil line. You may even be able to get away with an 1/8" just be gentle with it as it's developing more roots so it doesn't fall over. After a while its roots will be long enough to support it more.
