Lithops would not appreciate the humidity that would come with being near a waterfall.
Plants that we recommend for cracks in rocks are Sempervivum, Delosperma cooperi (but many other Delosperma plants work too) and hardy Sedum (tender Sedum works too if you're in a zone 9 or 10 area). We've grown all of these plants in rock walls and have had great success with them.
