If the tips turn brown, should I let them grow out or remove the browned part?

It's preferable to leave the brown tips whenever possible. The same goes for any dead leaves. Since rot is a major issue with Haworthia, especially during their summer dormancy, you want to keep the skin of the plant as intact as possible.
