Would the clippings do well if I attached them on top of a glass pumpkin?

If I wanted to use the clippings to make an arrangement on top of see through glass pumpkin, or even ceramic, would they do well or do the need the organic base of a pumpkin?

The cuttings should survive just as well attached to a glass pumpkin as they would a real one. The cuttings don't derive any nutrients from the pumpkin. However, if you want to keep the cuttings alive in the long run, you will have to remove them from the glass pumpkin and properly plant them.
I say that only because real pumpkins, of course, don't last forever like a glass one would. There's little danger of forgetting about them on a real pumpkin like there is on a glass one.
