Unfortunately, the big box stores are notorious for misidentifying or not even to bother identifying their cacti and succulents. And quite often the "decorative flower" is just a strawflower that's been glued to the cactus. Forums like Reddit's r/succulents or Garden.org's Cactus & Succulent forum are a good place to try to get these identified. We put a lot of time into correctly identifying the succulents we grow so that our customers know what they're getting.
