That depends on many factors like water availability, light availability, soil composition, use or misuse of fertilizers, and available space both above and below the ground.
I can tell you that it's a slow grower so, even with perfect conditions, I certainly wouldn't expect it to reach a foot in diameter in under a year or even two years. In short, the scale of time we're talking in is years.
