Can outdoor succulents be grown indoors, due to the very different environments?

Technically, yes, but many of them will not be happy about it. Outdoor succulents like Sempervivum and Sedum often don't get enough light when grown indoors. They also need cold winters and cool nights to really thrive. So it can be done by a south-facing window or under a grow light, but sometime they'll still etiolate.
