At Mountain Crest Gardens, we don't differentiate between the 'a' and 'b' hardiness zones so plants that are "on the edge" get thrown into one zone or another. Budda's temple is hardy to zone 9b, even though we call it zone 10 on our website. Just don't let it get below 25F.
Budda's temple can get burned by the sun so the 40% shade cloth seems like a great idea. It sounds like you're all set up to grow budda's temple! I hope this helps!
