SYMPTOMS
- Going soft
- Becoming mushy and wet
- Turning a translucent yellow or brown
- Shedding soggy upper leaves near the center of the rosette
- Immediately stop watering, reduce frequency, and allow soil to fully dry out
- Move into a location with slightly more sunlight and good ventilation
- Remove leaves that are already mushy and translucent
- If problem persists, remove plant from soil, allow to dry 3-5 days, and re-plant in well-draining soil with a less frequent watering schedule
- Be gentle with yourself; it's extremely difficult to save a succulent once rot has begun
