Different types of succulents have different cold tolerance according to their native climate. We divide them broadly into "soft" and "hardy" succulents depending on whether or not they can tolerate freezing temperatures. You can get even more specific by finding your Hardiness Zone and then using our Cold Hardiness filters to search for varieties that can tolerate the minimum temperature in your zone.
Succulents can grow outdoors in a higher numbered zone than their hardiness rating, but not a lower one. And remember, there are many more factors affecting plant health than just the minimum temperature. It is also important to keep them in the recommended light conditions for each variety and plant them in pots and soil with excellent drainage.
