It is possible to grow succulents in pots without drainage holes, but they make watering more difficult. We do not recommend non-draining pots if you're new to succulents. If possible, drill a hole in the bottom of non-draining containers.
Succulents do not tolerate standing water, so if you choose to use a non-draining pot, water 1/3 the volume of the pot. Do not water again until the soil is completely dry. Err on the side of under-watering and keep an eye out for signs of rot. Adding rocks to the bottom of the pot will not increase drainage. In fact, it can create pockets of water and increase the chance or root rot.
