Terrariums are doable, but add some extra challenges that need to be overcome. The largest of these challenges is the lack of drainage. This problem can be mitigated through fans (great idea with the CPU fans by the way) and by only planting succulents that need more water. Try planting thinner leafed plants like Sedum, Kalanchoe, Orostachys and so on. Try to avoid plants with large roots that need less water like Lithops, Haworthia, Gasteria and Aloe. The goal is to plant things that have similar watering needs, because it's hard to only water part of the terrarium.
Heat can be another challenge. The glass of terrariums can focus light and warm up the soil too much. A little extra heat is fine, but too much can cook the roots leading to wilting and eventual death. This problem can be mitigated by using LED lights, avoiding natural sunlight, and by increasing the soil depth.
