How deeply does it root -- i.e., shallow or deep pot needed?
Euphorbia 'Cocklebur' [bare root]

Euphorbia 'Cocklebur' prefers a shallow pot. It develops a short taproot like a turnip (napiform root). Because part of this taproot is exposed as a caudex, only the bottom half is underground. There's no hard and fast rule for pot depth for these, but don't worry about leaving a lot of room for roots.
