Sedum rupestre 'Silver' develops a thicker coat of farina when compared to Sedum reflexum 'Blue Spruce'. This gives S. 'Silver' a silvery color that S. 'Blue Spruce' doesn't have. Farina is a powdery wax that naturally forms on the leaves of many succulents. It's most notable in Echeveria, though many Sedum display the trait too.
