What are the upper-temperature limits for a plant like this? I live in Central Texas and a handful of mine just died in very dramatic fashion. Pretty gutted, but I can bring a few back to life... in time. 😮💨

Sorry to hear that! Senecio barbertonicus, any many other soft leafed succulents, will struggle in temperatures that are above 95°F. However, this won't outright kill them. Instead, excessive heat makes these succulents more sensitive to other stresses like rot, sunlight and desiccation. If you're careful to shade your S. barbertonicus in the afternoon, this will help tremendously.
