Allowing the soil to go completely dry for a few days will help slow the fungus gnats down tremendously and help whatever other methods you're using, so be sure you start with that. Very gritty soil also slows fungus gnats down.
Aside from that, getting a yellow index card and smearing honey on it can make for an excellent sticky trap for the flying adults. Skewer the card on a kebab stick and poke it into the soil such that the card faces are horizontal to the soil line and the card itself is only an inch, or less, above the soil. The yellow of the card is important as the gnats are attracted to that color.
Placing slices of potato on the soil surface will attract the ground dwelling larva. Leave the slices on the soil for a day or two to give the larva time to burrow into them. Then discard the slices, with the gnat larva inside.
The key to fungus gnat control is persistence. Keep employing these tactics until you no longer see the insects.
