The plant will let you know when it's thirsty. Look for wrinkling on the tops of the leaves and a sunken look to the top surface.
The only exception: do NOT water during flowering or splitting. Before watering, look between the leaves. If you see another pair of leaves down there, hold off on water until the outer leaves really shrivel and turn papery dry.
As always, if you're in doubt about watering Lithops, don't water yet.
