Sansevieria plants can be easily propagated using leaf cuttings. Just use a clean knife to cut a leaf off of your plant as close to the soil as you can. Then, allow the cutting to dry for a couple of days. That step is particularly important to prevent rot and grow the callus from which your new plant will grow. After this drying period, just poke the bottom of your cutting into soil. Be sure to keep the soil moist for the duration of the rooting process.
Place your potted cutting in a sunny window sill, or under a grow light, and wait. Don't be alarmed if your plant hasn't rooted after a month. Sansevieria plants are very slow growing.
You can also place the bottoms of dried cuttings in a glass of water instead of in soil. The advantage of this method is that you can see exactly when it roots. Once it does, the plant can be transferred to soil. If you use this method, be sure to change the water every week as algae will enjoy the water and the sunny window sill as well.
