It's important to note that any grafted moon cactus is actually two cacti that have been grafted together. The reason for this graft is that the upper, super colorful, cactus (the actual moon cactus) cannot survive on its own. It can't do its own photosynthesis while displaying those intense colors. The lower cactus though (a dragon fruit cactus) does photosynthesis enough to feed both of them. Because of this, the moon cactus will produce offsets, but they would need to be grafted themselves in order to survive.
However, the dragon fruit cactus will sometimes branch. These branches can be plucked off and rooted in soil to product a new dragon fruit cactus. It won't have that colorful moon cactus on it naturally, but dragon fruit cactus is a gorgeous plant that produces delicious fruit.
