Zone doesn't matter if you're growing the plant indoors. Hardiness zones just refer to the lowest temperature a particular region of the USA reaches during the winter and the lowest temperature a plant can take before sustaining damage.
As a general rule, plants that can tolerate lower zones, like Sempervivum, tend to not do as well indoors. While plants in higher zones, like Haworthia, tend to make great houseplants.
