How do you know which end of Adenia Viridiflora goes into the soil?

Adenia viridiflora typically has an oblong shape. However, one end of the caudex should be more rounded than the other. The more rounded end should go into the soil while the more tapered end should stick up. In a perfect world, this would be the case all of the time.
