You certainly don't have to separate them if you don't want to, but if you would rather have three separate plants then you absolutely can. It is easier to take care of them this way after all.
Just dig up the complete taproot of your Lithops plants and gently pull the individual plants apart. I do not recommend using a blade for this, as that can make deep wounds in the roots of the plants that encourage rotting. Then just pot each plant in well draining soil. Don't water any of these divided plants for a week after dividing and planting them, just to allow any unintentional wounds to callous over.
