They can spread up to, roughly, 2 feet across.
As far as how far apart to space them, that depends on what you want and what your climate is like. Do you want the whole bed/pot to be filled quickly? Do you live in a mild climate or do you get harsh winters?
An important thing to keep in mind is, as a general rule of thumb, hardy Sedum will grow one inch per month during the growing season in the spring. I'll attach an article here talking about succulent spacing from our FAQ page about it.
